STORIES OF A HIKING OUTDOOR GIRL.

Hi there! Thank you for visiting my blog. Check out my latest stories about outdoor activities, hiking trips or the latest gear and gadgets I’ve tried.

So we've had our fair share of hiking fails during our first year of hiking. We didn't really plan our trip to the Mullerthal trail, we didn't do training for longer distances and I forgot to properly check the map in Oberstdorf (part 2) to see if we would hike around or over a mountain. Which is a big difference of course. So I want to tell you all about our hiking fails so far, so...

The Mullerthal Trail is a trail of 112 km in Luxembourg. It's called Little Switzerland due to the surrounding nature and rock formations you'll encounter on the trail. We hiked our first sections on route 2 of the Mullerthal trail in July 2017 during a badly planned hiking trip. That'll...

I really want to talk about the stray dogs in Curaçao, and maybe not only the ones there, but all over the world. On this day of sharing your love, you might want to share a bit to those really in need. I just can't help but feeling desperate when I think of all the animals in high need. Of course there are loads of people in need too, and I feel for them as...

Hiking gear and gadgets, oh how I love them. I've been kind of a tech geek for most of my life. I just couldn't be bothered with looking up the specifications for all the things you can buy. Luckily that has changed over the past couple of years and now it's like a game to me. Let's play! No but to be honest, I love gadgets and gear that make my outdoor life easier. Let's start...

So I've written about hiking in Oberstdorf before in part 1. The second time we went to Oberstdorf was a bit spontaneously since we weren't quite sure if it was a good idea to go on a trip with our newest addition to our family. Zara had been living with us for only 1 month after she'd moved from Curacao. She picked up her new life rather quickly so we decided to give it a...

So we went hiking in Oberstdorf twice now. Before we go for a third and (for now) last time, I'd like to look back on those two trips. Let's start off with the first one. We wanted to go to a place with proper mountains, as close to the Netherlands as possible. After looking at several locations it was clear that Oberstdorf would be a great location to travel to. It was the best decision...

Hi there! With only 3 months to go it's time to start to get ready for (GRF) our (third) trip to Oberstdorf! So let's begin making plans, lists and looking up the best hiking trails for our trip, FUN! To camp or not to camp? We're not camping this time. There, I've said it. Shame shame shame (ting ting). I still love camping, I really do. But in all honesty, it's hard to drive 8 to 10...

Bouldering, you might have heard of it, or not. I didn't know about it until recently. My sisters did some climbing a couple of years ago. I wasn't interested to join them, being very afraid of heights and all. This changed when I went to Decathlon, my favorite store for sport and outdoor stuff (cause it's cheap, nice and works perfectly fine!). Next to Decathlon there was an unused area of the building, which has...

Once upon a time, not so far far away, I started hiking. I don't know why, but I woke up one day feeling it might be a very good idea to go to my horse's stable by bus and walk back home. Not the fastest most direct route, no not quite. The area where my horse lived was near to a great area filled with hills surrounded by thick forest, it's called The Veluwezoom. Hills...
